Families and Collectors' Stories

Our families and collectors have asked us to relay their stories and gratitude with our supporters. From all of us at WORK, thank you, mesi anpil.

Anespane, Collector in Carrefour Feuille

"Sunday, my children called me to let me know that the supplies that I sent to them for the week were done. I spent Monday and Tuesday thinking on what I'm going to do to put food on their table since my business is plunging. I can't imagine that today, I have supplies for a month for my children. This is a living testimony of my life. Thank you all for making it possible."

Sevenet, Collector on Delmas/Jerusalem

"My business is actually upside down. What I earn in any case would be possible to take care of my family. I was stressed about not earning enough for the month. But you guys showed up and look at what I have now. I am so happy. My family and I are so grateful for your gesture towards us. Thank you!!!"

Antoine, Collector in Jacmel

"I've been in Port-au-prince to meet a relative about lending me some money for the next month. Suddenly, I have this call to let me know that the first Mile has something for me. Weird coincidence, I received exactly what I was going to do with the money I would have received from my relative. Thank you for being with my family in this exceptional moment. We will never forget this day. God bless you all!"

"Sometimes ask myself why you guys care so much about us? That never happened to me. Thank you for the value you put on my person. It makes me feel important".

"I am so surprised!!! My children know that I'm going out but don't expect what I was going to bring home. I can't wait to see their faces when I'm coming back home. Thank you to everyone in the First Mile. I love you so much!!!"

Enick, Collector from Rue Pavée

"I was going through a bad situation in my life with my family. That support comes in the right time. I don't have words to express my gratitude to all of you. I'm so happy!"

Ernso, Collector from Rue Pavée

I thought this morning would be like any other day. But no. This is the greatest day of my life. Last night, I was complaining with my wife since 3 days we were running out of food. Look what happens to me now! You guys find me when I need you the most. Thank you so much..."

Gabriel

"Even though I'm scared of Doctors. But it seems like you guys are good Doctors. You know where to find the disease, and most importantly, how to cure it. This is all I needed at this time. I join my voice along with my family's to say THANK YOU!"

Marie, Collector from Canaan

"I don't know what to say. I don't really know because words are not enough to say thank you. I am 60 years old, and being in the plastic for 9 years. Never in my life I felt so supported. Never in my life people was there for me. You make me feel that I'm not alone. Thank you!"
